Structural Details
To minimize thermal bridging and allow for a super-insulated shell, this home has double-stud walls. The two sets of studs are placed so that the entire wall is a full foot thick, with blown-in insulation filling the cavity. Windows are set in the outer wall, with deep window wells flared to admit more light while visually emphasizing the thickness of the walls.
